A Hard Weekend for Manor Racing
Today was a hard race for Manor Racing. We fought till the very end but our car just did not suit the circuit. Here is the results for the Manor Boys:
Esteban MRT05 P21 1:38.380
Pascal MRT05 P22 1:38.000
It has been a hard weekend for Manor Racing, with the Free Practice sessions not really going to plan. Pascal had many issues, he also had a 5 place grid penalty for the start of the race. Esteban also had issues in qualifying with lots of traffic on his flying lap. Esteban out qualified Pascal with Pascal also having traffic issues. They where both knocked out in Q1.
As the race started Pascal and Esteban had great starts, overtaking both Sauber F1 cars and also a Renault Sport F1 car too (Kevin Magnussen) But with the lack of downforce on the MRT05 we fell back-down the order. The lack off speed was an issue in Sector 1 meaning cars could easily overtake us. But the car has tremendous straight line speed and could fly past near enough anyone on a straight, but the corners before the straights needs a lot of downforce meaning cars got away before we could attack.
That is near enough it in terms of the race meaning that we will have to come back stronger in the next race, which is the US Grand Prix (23rd October). There will be a preview for the US GP coming up on the Wednesday before the race.
