N. Lauda: Teams will show their true pace in Barcelona
One of Mercedes' shareholders, Niki Lauda, believes that this time, F1 teams will show their true pace in Barcelona Pre-Season testing.
When testing, majority of teams tend not to reveal their cards and usually 'sandbag' to confess professional analysts and fans.
Last year, Ferrari often topped the time sheets in test sessions, but when the season picked up it's pace, Ferrari was beaten by Mercedes and eventually lost the battle to Red Bull Racing.
N. Lauda believes that this time will be different. According to Austrian, Mercedes will not be the only team to demonstrate their true pace, as he believes that the rest of the grid will also push their cars to the limit.
''During the first four days, everyone will be trying to adapt to the new regulations. And during the break between the tests, teams will be preparing updates to their cars.'' - Lauda told Swiss newspaper ''Blick''.
''Then, from 7th to 10th of March, the real action will begin. But this time, no one will try to hide their true pace. This time, we want to see everyone's place on the grid.''
Niki Lauda is 100% sure that the fans will love the new Mercedes car.
''I have seen the car for the first time when they began building it. I was satisfied with it from the very beggining. Wider car with bigger tires looks amazing. Fans are going to love it.''
